In this article I refer to web conferencing not just as the (rather exclusive) software, with names such as WebEx, Sametime and Live Meeting, used by large corporations. Rather, I refer to an array of tools under the banner of ‘online chat’ that enable group online communication in a variety of forms; video & audio chat, instant messaging, file sharing, link sharing etc, all in real time. Didactical Potential of Blogs for Learners

Methods and materials used to support the language learning process should motivate the learner, capitalising on their highly individualised interests, learning styles and capabilities. The flexible nature of blogs gives them a high potential for motivating ’slack’ learners and inspiring ‘advanced’ ones. Blogs allow for considerable individual freedom regarding content and quantity; quieter pupils are encouraged to participate more actively, while more talkative ones can really let off steam.
